ORNAMENT FRAMES

A NEW WAY OF THINKING ABOUT CERAMICS, IN SHOWROOMS.

Frames is Yong Bae Seok’s project for Milan Design Week. Perfect modules with a square perimeter design unusual three-dimensional decorations. Pre-defined forms mark out “structural and unstructured” compositional patterns and rhythms in space. The rigour of white accompanies the purity of form, the geometric essentiality becomes ceramic art. Works of almost unreal precision whose cleanliness reveals perfect perfection. Frames is experimentation, a dialogue with the architectural-spatial dimension and with the aesthetic-functional dimension of object design.

The rigour of form, the eclectic use, the purity of white and the contemporariness of clay and powder blue shades. Frames is the crucible of an aesthetic experimentation, the dialogue between the architectural dimension and ceramic art. Eight volumes of 50×50 white-body ceramic dialogue on the wall and mark out compositional rhythms in space. The materiality and the change of surface of the Paddington striped module complete and emphasise the decorative versatility of frames. Contemporaneity, purity and eccletism.

Frames, ceramics and beyond.
