Among the surfaces, parquet is par excellence the one with the timeless natural charm that makes it one of the most popular and versatile.

We find it in more classic settings, as well as in more modern homes and workspaces, and in both cases its presence never goes unnoticed.

The idea that a parquet floor gives us of home is certainly one of warmth, harmony and great care of our spaces. However, this care might stop us from choosing such a product, because we are worried that wood is too delicate a material and therefore subject to wear.

Contrary to popular belief, this is actually a false conviction.

In fact, a quality parquet floor is an incredibly customisable surface, both in terms of taste and necessity.

Just think of the length of the planks, their width, the bevelled edges of the individual strips that will then make up the entire floor. These are all features that contribute to giving a greater sense of continuity, or a real sense of fracture and craftsmanship to the overall surface, and ensure that any signs of time can easily be concealed and become a sought-after effect.

This could help us, together with brushing, to ensure that the wood, which is already very resistant in itself, can also coexist with the presence of our four-legged friends in the house or the frequent passage of people in working environments.

In more serious cases, however, there will not even be a need to change the entire floor thanks to the Clip Up by Garbelotto system, which we will talk about in more detail in a future article!

The selection and research of quality parquet floors in our showrooms allows us to guarantee the care with which they are studied and produced, to the point that they are not even afraid of humidity. In fact, permeable and consciously laid, the wood species can even be designed to give an extra touch of elegance to our bathroom, which, with underfloor heating, would become even more welcoming. 

In this way, not only will we be able to emphasise the individual room, but we can also give a sense of continuity to the entire flooring in the rest of the house.

Finally, of course, the colour.

No material has such a wide range of colours and grains as natural wood, from light oak to dark walnut, which can blend perfectly with the dominant effect we want to give the room.

We might think of using a material such as xylem – taken from the plant tissue present in plants – to create a neutral, luminous overall shell, suitable for smaller spaces or to make contrasting furnishings stand out more, or we might use more unusual inlays – such as Foglie d’Oro, in its Moduli Design and Heritage collection – to give greater intensity to the floor.

In short, the needs we encounter when designing or renovating our homes are always many and varied, but the solutions are just as varied!
